When the TIM Committee E-mail Forum was started
in 1999, chat and messaging groups were still in their infant stages
and few knew the abbreviations others were adopting into their
'e-vocabulary'. Most of those that have been using the internet for
a few years now probably know these, but we'll keep them here for
historical purposes:
Abbreviations
AFAIK - as far as I know
AFK - away from keyboard
BC
or B/C
- because
BRB - be right back
BTW - by the way
FAQ or
FAQs - frequently asked
questions (often pronounced 'fax')
FWIW - for what it's worth
FYI - for your information
HTH - hope this helps
IAE - in any event
IMO - in my opinion
IMHO - in my humble opinion
IMNSHO
- in my not so humble opinion
IOW - in other words
LMK - let me know
OTOH - on the other hand
TIA - thanks in advance
TTYL - talk to you later
