FYI,

Ann Nolan is no longer the contact for the Freeway Courtesy Patrol in Detroit Michigan.  You may contact Chade Saghir at SEMCOG.

Chuck,

I conducted a nationwide survey of freeway service patrols in late 1996 for FHWA.  I conducted phone interviews with 53 programs.  Attached are the comment cards we received from six programs during the survey (they print out better than they appear on the monitor).  Also attached is a list of the contacts we used in the survey.  Hope this helps you out.

Dave

I immediately thought of you four individuals when I got this email from the ITE Traffic Incident Management Committee.  Do any of you guys have any information relative to examples of public opinion surveys conducted to assess freeway service patrol or motorist assist programs.  A gentleman by the name of Chuck Miller is looking for something like this
that would be particularly suited for a telephone survey. Chuck is trying to assess the effectiveness of the public information campaign to gage public opinion on perceived benefits and to assess the view of the actual service provided.  If you can help, please send an email response to "ITETIM@earthlink.net".

Thanks!

WG

I am looking for examples of public opinion surveys conducted to assess freeway service patrol or motorist assist programs. I am envisioning a telephone survey format. The objective of the survey will be to assess the effectiveness of the public information campaign, to gauge public opinion on perceived benefits and to assess the view of the actual service provided.

I am interested in sample size and the actual questions asked. Any suggestions of agencies that have conducted similar surveys would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Chuck Miller

Do you have a tentative date and time for the committee meeting in Las Vegas?
