Establish a Sustainable Traffic Incident Management Network
Identify and coordinate available resources to support a sustainable
national peer network for traffic incident management professionals and
their national committees and working groups.
- Update Committee web site provisions and webmaster responsibilities by
2/01
- Develop a facilitator scheme and schedule for the TIM email discussion
group by 3/01 (NIMC)
- Define the Committee’s role in developing the USDOT Public Safety
Program Roadmap by 6/01
- Establish the Public Safety Advisory Group – Traffic Management
Liaison Group by 3/01
- Support development and implementation of the Public Safety Program
Roadmap
- Incorporate a TIM Professional Development & Research pooled-fund
project into the Public Safety Program Roadmap
Coordinate the Key Issues and Practices Series
Continue teleconferences, videoconferences, web casts, and other events
to collect and share expertise on specific traffic management topics,
issues, and practices. Focus areas may include safety patrols, crash
investigation sites, incident management legislation, TIM program evaluation
and measures of effectiveness, public awareness programs, TIM training and
education programs, and others.
- Support an event in conjunction with the I-95 and
Gary-Chicago-Milwaukee (GCM) Corridor Coalitions/Initiatives by 8/01
- Co-sponsor the ITS
Forum by 10/01
- Support at Key Issues and Practices event in conjunction with an
activity in Texas by 12/01
- Co-sponsor the TRB Incident Management Conference by 1/02
